REGUILON DOUBTFUL FOR LEICESTER CLASH

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has stated that Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon is a big doubt ahead of the Premier League clash at Leicester City. Italian tactician Conte made this known in a chat with reporters in his pre-march press conference on Wednesday ahead of the game billed for the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.

Reguilon suffered an injury during the Premier League clash with bottom team Norwich City almost two weeks ago and he had to come off during the first half of the game which ended in a 3-0 win for Tottenham Hotspur. While giving an update on Reguilon during his press conference, Conte said that the former Real Madrid and Sevilla player has been in training sessions in his bid to return to full fitness, but he’s not sure if the Spaniard would be involved in the Leicester City game.

Spurs have a lot of Covid-19 cases ahead of the Leicester City game after the outbreak suffered at their training ground last week. The Coronavirus outbreak led to the postponement of two games in all competitions. The UEFA European Conference League clash with French side Rennes billed for the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London last week Thursday was postponed in addition to the away game against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League last weekend.

Two of the Covid-19 cases involve Brazilian fullback Emerson Royal and Spanish winger Bryan Gil. The two players have recovered sufficiently from Covid-19 and they could be involved in the Spurs team that take on the Foxes who are smarting from the 4-0 demolition of Newcastle United in their last game. The win over the Magpies took Leicester City into the top half of the league table. On their part, Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten in their four league games under Conte including three wins in a row.
