CAN STILL QUALIFY

The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Andre Villas-Boas, has assured the fans that his team can still qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham slipped to the 5th position in the Premier League points table after playing a draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday. Now, they have to play only a couple of games and they need to play remarkably well in those games to displace Arsenal from that 4th position. The Gunners are currently one point ahead of Tottenham.

In the match against Chelsea, Tottenham got trailed twice, but, on both the occasions, they managed to equalize.

The goal scorers for Tottenham in that match were Emmanuel Adebayor and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while, for the Blues, the two players who found the net were Oscar and Ramires.

Talking to the reporters after the match against Chelsea, Villas-Boas said, “We had gone into this match with the target of getting three points, but, unfortunately, we couldn’t get that. But, this is not the end of the competition. There are two more games to go and we can still bounce back.”

“Nothing can be predicted in this competition. In the final few games, dramatic things can happen. We still have a very good chance to make it to the Champions League. All we need to do is to keep believing in ourselves.”

“We haven’t played badly in the league so far. The boys have shown great intensity in every match and I am proud of the team.  I don’t think we have let the supporters down in too many matches.”

“The last two games are against Stoke City and Sunderland and we can’t afford to lose points in those matches. We will have to get 6 points at any cost.”

The Spurs will take on Stoke City on 12th of May at Britannia Stadium.
